Understanding the Generation Process
What the System Analyzes
When generating your plan, the system:
- Examines competitor citations - Where are they mentioned?
- Identifies your gaps - What sources cite them but not you?
- Analyzes content patterns - What content performs well?
- Evaluates opportunities - What's achievable and impactful?
Processing Time
Generation typically takes 5-15 minutes based on:
- Amount of data to analyze
- Number of prompts and citations
- Complexity of competitor coverage

- Title: Brief description of the content opportunity
- Priority: High, Medium, or Low impact
- Effort: Low, Medium, or High effort required
- Status: New, In Progress, Completed, or Dismissed
- Details: Full explanation and action steps
Prioritization Framework
Priority Levels
| Priority | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| High | Major visibility gap, strong ROI | Address first |
| Medium | Good opportunity, moderate impact | Queue after high |
| Low | Minor improvement potential | Address when time permits |
Effort Levels
| Effort | Typical Work | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 1-2 hours | Update existing page, add section |
| Medium | 4-8 hours | New blog post, comprehensive update |
| High | 1-2+ days | New guide, research piece, landing page |
Recommended Approach
Start with: High Priority + Low Effort (quick wins)
Then tackle: High Priority + Medium Effort (impactful)
Later: Medium Priority items and High Effort projects

Re-Generating Plans
When to Re-Generate
Generate a fresh plan when:
- You've addressed most current recommendations
- Significant time has passed (2-4 weeks)
- Competitor visibility has changed notably
- You want to analyze a different competitor
Analyzing Different Competitors
You can generate plans based on different competitors:
- Each competitor may reveal different opportunities
- Some competitors may be more relevant targets
- Diversify your analysis for comprehensive coverage
Tips for Success
Act on Recommendations
Generating plans is only valuable if you act:
- Schedule content creation time
- Assign recommendations to team members
- Set deadlines for completion
- Track results after publishing
Quality Over Quantity
Better to do fewer recommendations well than many poorly:
- Focus on comprehensive, valuable content
- Don't rush to check boxes
- Prioritize strategic impact
Monitor Results
After publishing content:
- Wait 2-4 weeks for AI to index
- Check for visibility improvements
- Note which content types work best
- Refine your approach based on results
Troubleshooting
Generation Taking Too Long
If generation exceeds 20 minutes:
- Check your connection
- Refresh the Content Plan page
- Contact support if it persists
No Recommendations Generated
If the system generates few/no recommendations:
- Competitor may have similar visibility to you
- Try analyzing a different competitor
- Your coverage may already be strong
Recommendations Don't Seem Relevant
If recommendations miss the mark:
- Check that prompts accurately represent your business
- Ensure competitor selection is appropriate
- Review your topic and prompt setup
