Quick Start Checklist
Follow this checklist to get your AI visibility tracking up and running quickly.
Before You Start
Gather the following information:
- Your main website URL
- Your brand name (and any aliases/abbreviations)
- 3-5 topics relevant to your business
- 10-20 questions customers might ask AI platforms
- Names of 2-3 key competitors
Setup Steps
Step 1: Create Your Brand (5 minutes)
- Log in to your Dashboard
- Click "Add Brand"
- Enter your website URL
- Confirm or edit the detected brand name
- Add brand aliases (abbreviations, product names, etc.)
- Click "Create Brand"
Step 2: Add Your Website (2 minutes)
- Your primary website is added automatically with your brand
- Optionally add additional websites/domains
- Set location targeting (US, UK, etc.)
Step 3: Create Topics (5 minutes)
- Navigate to your brand's Topics section
- Create 3-5 topics covering your main business areas
- Use clear, descriptive names
Example topics:
- "Best [Your Category] Software"
- "[Your Industry] Solutions"
- "[Competitor] Alternatives"
Step 4: Add Prompts (10 minutes)
For each topic, add 5-10 prompts:
- Add "Best [category]" questions
- Add comparison questions ("[Brand] vs [Competitor]")
- Add alternative questions ("Best alternatives to [Competitor]")
- Add feature-specific questions
- Set intent types (Commercial, Informational, etc.)
- Ensure prompts are set to Active
Step 5: Wait for Data (24-48 hours)
- Initial data collection happens automatically
- First results appear within 24-48 hours
- Check back for your first visibility report
First Week Actions
Once data starts flowing:
Day 2-3: Review Initial Data
- Check your Dashboard for initial metrics
- Review appearance rate across prompts
- Note which prompts show your brand
Day 4-5: Analyze Competitors
- Open Citation Details modal
- See where competitors are being mentioned
- Identify gaps in your visibility
Day 6-7: Generate Recommendations
- Open a competitor card in Citation Details
- Click "Get On-Page Optimisation Plan"
- Review content recommendations
- Check Link Building Plan for opportunities
Ongoing Best Practices
Weekly Tasks
- Review visibility score changes
- Check for new competitor mentions
- Act on 1-2 recommendations
Monthly Tasks
- Add new prompts for emerging topics
- Deactivate low-value prompts
- Generate fresh recommendations
- Review trend data for patterns
Common Setup Mistakes to Avoid
- Too few prompts: Start with at least 10 prompts for meaningful data
- Too generic prompts: Be specific ("best CRM for small business" not just "CRM")
- Forgetting aliases: Add all brand name variations
- Inactive prompts: Ensure prompts are toggled to Active
- Impatience: Wait 24-48 hours for initial data
